Alchemy

As we ride through the darkness
And head for the eye of the storm
Waves crashing high on the ship
As we venture into the unknown

Phantoms playing overhead
The compass starts to spin
As here down below
A ghostly crew mans the deck

Alchemy, blowing on the wind
Let us see
Guide us through this darkest night

Ever onwards descending
The rain beating hard upon us
Passed islands of sorrow
Passed visions of terror and mourning
Heartbeats pounding, fear resounding
As visions of night
try to draw us into their web

Holding on to the ship
As the waves ever wilder crash down upon us
Thoughts losing their way
As deeper into this labyrinth we’re drawn

Nothing here is at it seems
An ocean of illusion
As rocks stand before us
Then vanish into thin air

All around the storm now rages
Lightening strikes, the mast descends
From the shadows cruel despair
Reaches out and calls us to his side

Through the howls of the wind grows a sound
The beating of wings approaching
Above us the mast standing tall
A wind of hope blows through the sails
Angels voices overhead
The clouds begin to part
As all around us a shimmering light starts to glow

In the sky a doorway opens
Calling us to step inside
From the ashes truth now rises
Like a phoenix guiding us home tonight

Storm Deva

Here I am, this pain within me
Piercing deep into my heart
Here I am, this day before me
This feeling tearing me apart

But this day will not be lost
I’ll find a way to win
I’ll claim it back again
I won’t give in

For I am strong, this day is mine
I will do more than just survive
I’ll turn the tide
And from this storm within
I’ll find a way to rise

And these waves tossing within me
I will ride each one until they pass
Here in the rain as it falls upon me
I’ll watch and let it follow it’s own path

Here we are, upon this journey
Each of us trying to find our way
Here we are trying to make sense
Of everything that we’ve been through

But who knows what might have been
The paths we’ve left unwalked
But life is here, regrets won’t help

Feel the wind on my face
Sense the stars up above
Breathe the world in around me
Know there’s nothing to fear
Know that I’m really here
And this beauty astounds me

For last night I said goodbye
To stories hidden long ago
Deep inside

Now the pain’s disappeared
Now the need is no more
Now at last I can breathe
To the depth of my soul
Know alone I am whole
Know at last I am free

As the rivers will flow

The Garden of Wisdom

I can hear your voice again
Calling through the night
Pulling me towards the door,
Your lies begin once more,
Whispering of pain and fear
You try to weave your spell
And draw me in your labyrinth
The darkness where you dwell

But this time I see through the clouds
From this hillside I will survey
Each illusion I’ll turn away
Every game will remain as the nothing it is
I’ll walk unconcerned through the dark

For this time it’s you
who will dance to my tune
This time it’s I’ll beat the drum
This time the lantern of truth shining brightly
I will remain in the sun

For I’m breaking free
The shackles of darkness are falling from me

Her light setting me free

Now the light shines on the years
Truth from lies are clear at last
In love’s arms trust grows again
As I cradle the pain and then bid it farewell
And watch it return to the ground

The Dance

From the hills the music plays
Calling me to join the dance
Who can say what’s right or wrong
Who can say where we belong

From the earth life grows anew
On the air blow winds of change
Through my hair the breezes blow
Sunlight glistening on the rain

Now my heart resounds again
To the melodies I hear
Rising, turning to the music
Calling me to joy again

Feel the rhythm of the earth
Hear her heartbeat down below
To the forest’s edge I ride
Leaving darkness far behind

Over fields I’m riding
Carried on this silvery steed
Through the air I’m flying

Singing songs from distant times
All around Life’s music plays
Her symphony of joy

Colours swirling round the fire
Dancing leaping ever higher

Looking out upon this great unknown
